Overview
Round-the-clock monitoring of critical banking software and network infrastructure across more than 250 branch locations — the operational side of keeping a bank's network running, not a lab certification exercise.
What the role actually involves
- Network troubleshooting — logging directly into routers and switches to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues across the branch network.
- Critical software monitoring — ensuring high availability of core banking applications alongside the network layer they run on.
- Alert automation — built scripts in UiPath and Power Automate to automatically filter and route NOC alerts, cutting the team's response time by 80%.
- Incident ownership — coordinating with vendors under SLA pressure, owning the escalation process end-to-end including setting up call bridges between stakeholders.
- Custom dashboards in ServiceNow to track tickets across teams, reducing the overhead of searching for and tracking open issues.
- Batch processing automation for critical banking operations using OPICS, CIBAR, GFT, Zena, SQL Management Studio, Control-M, and MoveIt.
